Let Go
I’ve had a ton of change in my life this year and it’s only March! Lots of good stuff is happening. “Aslan is on the move” is the best way I can think of to sum it all up. With all that is happening, I am really trying hard to lean in close and hear from God about what He wants for me. It’s been tough at times. There are so many good things going on and then there are just things going on that will probably always be going on. How do you know what is you know, ’the thing’ for the season of life you are in?
Look at what you have your hands on or in.
Are you striving to keep it? If you are, it’s not yours to hold.
Do you have peace?
Jesus is the Prince of Peace. If you don’t, He isn’t in it.
Does the thought of what you are doing give you joy and excitement or just a sense of obligation? If the excitement is gone then God’s is moving you on. His joy sustains us when we are out of joy.
The joy of the LORD is my strength.
Open your hand and give God all that you are holding on to. If He wants you to have it, he’ll give it right back and with it you’ll have joy and peace and endurance and excitement for what the future holds.
He is before all things, and in him holds all things together.
Col 1:17
You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
Psalm 145:16
God satisfies our desires. If we are satisfied in him, then we will be satisfied with whatever we put our hands to.
So I guess the key is pure and simple. Pursue God with all your heart and he will open his hands up and give you all that you desire and more than you ever dreamed possible. I’m starting to see that His plans are greater than what I ever ask for. He’s so much bigger than my tiny, puny little dreams and prayers that I share with him. I’m thankful that He operates on such a different level. He has such a great view of my life from where he sits.
He holds us in his loving hands. His desires for us are good.
So it’s time. It’s time to let go of what might be good to get to what is better.
